The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
  Central Alamosa County in southeastern Colorado...
  Northwestern Costilla County in south central Colorado...
  Eastern Conejos County in south central Colorado...

* Until 515 PM MDT.

* At 437 PM MDT, a dust channel was near Mosca, or 7 miles north of
  Alamosa, moving southeast at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong wind in 
           excess of 50 mph.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

  IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* Highway 17 and 160 are expected to be impacted.

Locations impacted include...
Alamosa, San Luis Valley Airport, Blanca, Alamosa East, Fort Garland,
and Blanca Peak.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.
