The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
  West central Hidalgo County in southwestern New Mexico...

* Until 815 PM MDT.

* At 710 PM MDT, dense plumes of blowing dust were impacting 
  Lordsburg Playa, particularly around Interstate 10 mile marker 
  11. 

  HAZARD...Near zero visibility with strong winds up to 45 mph.

  SOURCE...Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists.

  IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

Locations impacted include...
Interstate 10 west of Lordsburg to the Arizona state line, Steins, 
and Road Forks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

There is no safe place on a highway when a dust storm hits.
Visibility can be lost immediately, making it difficult or impossible
to slow down and avoid stopped vehicles. Delay travel, or safely exit
the highway before the dust storm arrives.
