The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Dust Advisory for...
  Southern Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
  Eastern Socorro County in central New Mexico...

* Until 615 PM MDT.

* At 318 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was located across south 
  central Lincoln County.

  HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong winds in
           excess of 50 mph.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ruidoso, Carrizozo, Lincoln, Ruidoso Downs, Capitan, Nogal, Smokey 
  Bear Historical Park, Fort Stanton, Bonito Lake and Alto.

This includes Highway 380 between Mile Markers 44 and 107.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not drive into an area of blowing dust. PULL ASIDE 
STAY ALIVE!

...DUST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM MDT FOR SOUTHERN 
LINCOLN AND EASTERN SOCORRO COUNTIES...

At 332 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was located across south 
central Lincoln County.

HAZARD...Less than one half mile visibility, except near zero
         visibility and brownout conditions along U.S. 54 from
         Carrizozo to Tularosa, due to strong winds in excess of
         50 mph.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

Locations impacted include...
  Ruidoso, Carrizozo, Lincoln, Ruidoso Downs, Capitan, Nogal, Smokey 
  Bear Historical Park, Fort Stanton, Bonito Lake and Alto.

This includes Highway 380 from Mile Marker 44 and Mile Marker 107 
and U.S. 54 from Mile Marker 78 to Mile Marker 123. This stretch of 
U.S. 54 is now closed.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility 
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If 
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your 
foot off the brake.
