The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a
* Dust Advisory for...
Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 100 AM MST.
* At 1201 AM MST, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 9
miles southwest of Chui-Chu to near La Palma to near Coolidge
Airport to 14 miles southeast of Florence to 15 miles northwest of
Saddlebrooke Ranch, moving northwest at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Less than two miles visibility with strong winds in
excess of 30 mph.
SOURCE...Doppler radar.
IMPACT...Hazardous travel.
* This includes the following highways...
AZ Interstate 10 between mile markers 174 and 204.
AZ Interstate 8 between mile markers 158 and 178.
AZ Route 87 between mile markers 124 and 155.
Locations impacted include...
Casa Grande, Florence, Coolidge, Maricopa, Queen Creek, Arizona City,
La Palma, Blackwater, Toltec, San Tan Valley, Magma, Coolidge
Airport, Bapchule, Olberg, and Arizola.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
