The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Advisory for...
  Southeastern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico...
  Southern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...
  Northern El Paso County in western Texas...

* Until 845 PM MDT.

* At 739 PM MDT, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 12
  miles southeast of Columbus to 21 miles southwest of Afton to 14
  miles southwest of Santa Teresa, moving northeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Less than one mile visibility with strong wind in excess 
           of 50 mph.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Hazardous travel.

* This includes the following highways...
   Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 158 and 164.
   Interstate 10 in Texas between mile markers 1 and 33.

Locations impacted include...
West El Paso, East El Paso, Central El Paso, Northeast El Paso, Far
East El Paso, Mission Valley, Columbus, Chaparral, Santa Teresa,
Anthony, Sunland Park, Canutillo, Afton, Anthony Gap, Berino, Vinton,
Westway, Fort Bliss, Chamberino, and La Union.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
