URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
Flood Watch
National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD
229 PM CDT Tue Jul 29 2025

.This watch is based off of saturated soils as much as the threat
for heavy rainfall. Recent rains have left much of the area with
saturated soils that cannot handle a lot of rain. Rapid runoff is
likely with any heavy rain that can develop. Current expectations
are that some storms will be capable of producing 2-4 inches of rain
per hour which would lead to urban and small stream flooding issues.
This heavier rain is expected to occur in smaller bands so
confidence in exact location is still lower at this time.
