...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occuring.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Montana, including the following
counties, west central Custer and central Rosebud.
* WHEN...Until 900 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways including I-94.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 556 PM MDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain in
the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 3 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Moon Creek Ranch, Twelve Mile Dam and Hathaway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Do not drive on or attempt to cross
flooded roads, find an alternate route. Roads and driveways may be
damaged or washed out in places.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 9 PM MDT this evening for a
portion of southeast Montana, including the following areas, Custer
and Rosebud.
The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
