...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MDT /NOON CDT/ THIS
MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northwest Kansas, including the following
counties, Sherman and Thomas.
* WHEN...Until 1100 AM MDT /noon CDT/.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or
other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 659 AM MDT /759 AM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy
rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Goodland, Brewster, Kanorado, Ruleton and Edson.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

portion of northwest Kansas, including the following areas, Sherman
and Thomas.
The heavy rain has ended. Urban and small stream flooding is no
longer expected to pose a major threat. Please continue to heed
remaining road closures.
