...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Kentucky, including the 
  following counties, Allen, Barren, Cumberland, Metcalfe, Monroe, 
  Russell, Simpson and Warren.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 457 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Glasgow, Scottsville, Tompkinsville, Edmonton, Burkesville,
    Leslie, Franklin, Gamaliel, Fountain Run and Tracy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 11 AM CDT this morning for a 
portion of south central Kentucky, including the following areas, 
Allen, Barren, Cumberland, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Simpson and 
Warren.

The threat for widespread flooding has increased over the area. 
Therefore the Flood Advisory has been replaced by a Flood Warning.
