...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of north central North Dakota, including the
following counties, south central Bottineau, western McHenry,
southeastern Renville and southeastern Ward.
* WHEN...Until 1145 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 545 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Velva, Surrey, Sawyer, Granville, Upham, Deering, Denbigh,
Karlsruhe, Norwich, Voltaire, Logan, Bantry, Bergen, Simcoe
and Wolseth.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
