...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Hydrologic flooding caused by excessive rainfall is 
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northwest Colorado, including the following 
  county, Garfield.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. A 
  mudslide over Highway 139 south of Douglas Pass is on going or 
  expected to begin shortly. Avoid traveling and recreating through 
  the advisory area.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1149 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly south of Douglas Pass on CO Hwy 139. Between 0.5 and
    0.8 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Douglas Pass and CO Hwy 139 is the most likely place to
    experience minor flooding.
    Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Highway 139 is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay 
alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
