...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM EDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
Kentucky, including the following counties, in east central
Kentucky, Estill and Powell. In south central Kentucky, Laurel,
Pulaski and Rockcastle. In southeast Kentucky, Breathitt, Clay,
Jackson, Lee, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry and Wolfe.
* WHEN...Until 1115 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 815 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
London, Mount Vernon, Jackson, Beattyville, Manchester,
McKee, Campton, Booneville, Boone, Simpson, Fincastle,
Buckhorn, Mummie, Green Hall, Elian, Nathanton, Herd,
Privett, Maulden and Zekes Point.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flood Warning for portions of
east central, south central, and southeast Kentucky, including the
following areas, in east central Kentucky, Estill and Powell. In
south central Kentucky, Laurel, Pulaski and Rockcastle. In southeast
Kentucky, Breathitt, Clay, Jackson, Lee, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley,
Perry and Wolfe.
The threat of flooding continues and a Flood Warning is now in
effect. Please refer to that bulletin for more information.
