...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southern Humboldt County in northwestern California...
  Mendocino County in northwestern California...
  Southwestern Trinity County in northwestern California...

* Until 630 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  River or stream flows are elevated. There will be an increased risk
  of rock and land slides along roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 229 AM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding
    is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Eureka, Arcata, Ukiah, Fort Bragg, Willits, Point Arena,
    Richardson Grove State Park, Garberville, Laytonville, Covelo,
    Honeydew, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Albion, Ukiah
    Municipal Airport, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Leggett, Richardson Grove,
    Rockport and Redway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
