...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by heavy rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Covington County in south central Alabama...
  East Central Escambia County in south central Alabama...

* WHEN...Until 1045 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 840 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Andalusia, Opp, Florala, Lockhart, Red Oak, Stanley, Huckaville,
    Carolina, Sanford, Horn Hill, Green Bay, Stedman, Onycha, Babbie,
    Beck, Beda, Wiggins, Falco, McRae and Wing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 1045 PM CDT this evening for a
portion of south central Alabama, including the following areas,
Covington and Escambia.

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT Friday for portions
of Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi...
