* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southwestern Columbia County in southwestern Arkansas...
  Lafayette County in southwestern Arkansas...
  Eastern Miller County in southwestern Arkansas...
  Northeastern Bossier Parish in northwestern Louisiana...
  Southwestern Claiborne Parish in northwestern Louisiana...
  Northern Webster Parish in northwestern Louisiana...

* WHEN...Until noon CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are
  elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 906 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Springhill, Lewisville, Cullen, Plain Dealing, Cotton Valley,
    Sarepta, Bradley, Taylor, Garland, Shongaloo, Welcome, Bussey,
    Canfield, Evergreen, Athens, State Line, Walkerville and
    Bolinger.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT NOON CDT TODAY...

The Flood Advisory will expire at noon CDT today for portions of
southwest Arkansas, including the following areas, Columbia,
Lafayette and Miller and northwest Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Bossier, Claiborne and Webster.

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 100 PM CDT Thursday for
portions of Arkansas, Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, and northeast
Texas...
