Slot canyons and steep, dry washes can become raging currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall. Do not attempt hiking or canyoneering. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 234 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.2 inches of rain have fallen. - Much of the drainages in and near Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park are the most likely place to experience minor flooding. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.4 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
