...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Western Greene County in southeastern Mississippi...
Perry County in southeastern Mississippi...
Southwestern Wayne County in southeastern Mississippi...
* WHEN...Until 1115 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 810 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Richton, Beaumont, New Augusta, McLain, Hintonville, Ferguson,
Wingate, McSwain, East Side, Little Creek, Brewer, Mahned, Good
Hope, Progress, Neely, Byrd, Avera, Sand Hill, Bothwell and
Belleville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
