...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Berkeley County in southeastern South Carolina...
  Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina...

* WHEN...Until 545 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 238 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated brands of showers and a
    few thunderstorms with torrential rainfall moving onshore across
    much of eastern Berkeley County and upper Charleston County. Up
    to and inch of rain has already fallen in some areas and an
    additional 1 to 3 inches could fall through 530 AM, resulting in
    minor flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mount Pleasant, McClellanville, Isle Of Palms, Sullivans Island,
    Awendaw, Jamestown, Garris Landing, Bull Island, Price Inlet and
    Hampton Plantation State Park.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 545 AM EDT early this morning for a
portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following areas,
Berkeley and Charleston.

The heavy rain has ended. However, additional showers and
thunderstorms with torrential rainfall are expected to redevelop over
the area as daybreak approaches.
