...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central Kansas, including the following
counties, Johnson and Miami and west central Missouri, including
the following counties, Bates, Cass, Jackson and Johnson.
* WHEN...Until 1045 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is likely.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 750 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen particularly across western Johnson (MO),
Cass (MO), and Miami (KS) counties.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Lees Summit, Lenexa,
Leawood, Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Gardner, Warrensburg,
Harrisonville, Pleasant Hill, Paola, Spring Hill, Greenwood,
Peculiar, Osawatomie, Louisburg and Knob Noster.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory has expired for portions of east central Kansas,
including the following areas, Johnson and Miami and west central
Missouri, including the following areas, Bates, Cass, Jackson and
Johnson.
The heavy rain has ended for the time being. A Flash Flood Warning
remains in effect for Cass, Bates, Henry, Johnson (MO), and Pettis
counties. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
