...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, including
the following counties, in east central Colorado, north central
Elbert. In northeast Colorado, south central Arapahoe.
* WHEN...Until 800 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry creeks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 607 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mainly rural areas of North Central Elbert and South Central
Arapahoe Counties.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 8 PM MDT this evening for portions
of east central and northeast Colorado, including the following
areas, in east central Colorado, Elbert. In northeast Colorado,
Arapahoe.
The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed any remaining closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for portions of
east central and northeast Colorado...
