...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following
county, Chatham and southeast South Carolina, including the
following counties, Beaufort and Jasper.
* WHEN...Until 245 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 130 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a nearly stationary
thunderstorm over Downtown Savannah. A quick 1 to 2 inches of
rain could result in urban flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pooler, Bluffton, Hutchinson Island, Downtown Savannah,
Bellinger Hill Area, Midtown Savannah, Hunter Army Airfield,
Savannah International Airport, Wilmington Island and Windsor
Forest.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy rain in Downtown Savannah will result in nuisance flooding of
low-lying areas. Slow down when traveling and allow extra distance
between you and the vehicle ahead. Do not drive into water of
unknown depth.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 245 PM EDT this afternoon for
portions of southeast Georgia, including the following area, Chatham
and southeast South Carolina, including the following areas,
Beaufort and Jasper.
The heavy rain has ended. Flood waters have receded. Flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining
road closures.
