...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, including the following
counties, Crittenden, Cross, Mississippi, Poinsett and St. Francis
and West Tennessee, including the following counties, Fayette,
Haywood, Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton.
* WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 903 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen with additional rainfall expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bartlett, Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch,
West Memphis, Forrest City, Marion, Brownsville, Millington,
Covington, Wynne, Osceola, Earle, Luxora, Parkin, Wilson,
Madison, Tyronza and Meeman Shelby Forest State Park.

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 115 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
The Flood Advisory will expire at 115 PM CDT this afternoon for
portions of East Arkansas, including the following areas,
Crittenden, Cross, Mississippi, Poinsett and St. Francis and West
Tennessee, including the following areas, Fayette, Haywood,
Lauderdale, Shelby and Tipton.
The heavy rain has ended. Flooding remains a concern for eastern
Crittenden County and most of Shelby County, covered by an areal
flood warning. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
