...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...North Central Richland County in central South Carolina...

* WHEN...Until 1045 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 839 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This  will cause urban and small stream flooding.
    Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the
    area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Columbia, Forest Acres, Dentsville, Arcadia Lakes,
    Sesquicentennial State Park, Woodfield, Killian, Villages at
    Sandhill, Fort Jackson and Lake Carolina.
  - This includes the following highways...
    Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 72 and 79.
    Interstate 77 between mile markers 12 and 23.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded
roadway or around barricades. Turn around, dont drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
