...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Nebraska, including the
  following county, Dawson.

* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 721 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms over much of mainly northeast Dawson County.
    Minor flooding of mainly small creeks and streams, and
    possibly some rural roads is likely ongoing or expected to
    begin shortly in the Advisory area, due to between 1 and 2
    inches of rain that have already fallen mostly in the last
    hour, and the potential for another 1 to 2 inches to fall
    over the next few hours.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Spring Creek, Crooked Creek, Kilgore Creek, Buffalo Creek,
    Elm Creek and French Creek.

  - Some locations that could experience flooding include...
    Sumner and Eddyville.

...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Nebraska, including the
  following county, Dawson.

* WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,
  along with possibly along small creeks/streams and some rural
  county roads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 941 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heaviest
    rainfall from earlier Tuesday evening had since subsided, but
    a widespread 2 to 4 inches had fallen, including a personal
    weather station measurement of 3.56 inches three miles west
    of Sumner as of 930 PM CDT. As a result, minor flooding of
    small creeks/streams and possibly some rural roads will
    likely continue for at least a few more hours. In addition,
    at least intermittent, light to at times moderate rain could
    continue through much of the night, possibly dropping up to
    around 1 more inch of rain over parts of the Advisory area.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Wood River, Spring Creek, Crooked Creek, Kilgore Creek,
    Buffalo Creek, Elm Creek and French Creek.
  - Some locations that could experience flooding include...
    Sumner and Eddyville, but especially rural areas between
    those towns.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 2 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 2 AM CDT early this morning for a
portion of south central Nebraska, including the following area,
Dawson.

Although much of the Advisory area has received a widespread 2.00 to
4.50 inches of rain since around 630 PM Tuesday evening, the vast
majority of it fell before 9 PM, with amounts since then mainly well
under 1 inch.

Given that several hours have passed since the heaviest rain ended,
allowing much of the runoff to subside, and also given that very
little additional rain is expected yet this morning, this Flood
Advisory will be allowed to expire at this time.

That being said, some lingering minor flooding of mainly low-lying
and poor drainage areas cannot be ruled out, so caution is advised
if traveling in the area early this morning.
