...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 AM PST THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall upstream along the Russian River has resulted in the
Russian River at Geyserville reaching minor flood stage.
* WHERE...North Central Sonoma County in northern California...
* Until 715 AM PST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas along
the Russian River between Geyserville and Jimtown is expected. At
minor flood stage, water may begin to inundate the lowest
floodplain locations on left (east) bank of the Russian River at
Geyserville.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1217 AM PST, The Russian River at Geyserville reports the
river has risen to minor flood stage as of 11:30 PM PST on 21
December. The Russian River is expected to crest around 40.5 ft
(minor flood stage) by 3 AM PST with minor flooding to persist
through at least 7 AM PST. This is a result of excessive rainfall
upstream along the Russian River with the river gauge at Russian
River at Hopland reporting the river is in minor flood stage.
- Flooding is most likely in the lowest lying areas within the
vicinity of the Russian River from Geyserville to Jimtown. Light
rain will continue through the afternoon with additional amounts
up to 0.5 inches expected. Moderate to heavy rain returns tonight
into Tuesday.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Low lying
areas along the Russian River extending from Geyserville to
Jimtown.
