...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM PST EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is is being reported
  by CHP within Sonoma County along Mark West Creek.

* WHERE...West Central Napa County in northern California...
  East Central Sonoma County in northern California...

* Until 400 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. CHP reports
  indicate flooding over roadways in the vicinity of Mark West Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1259 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated light moderate rain.
    Minor flooding is already occurring near smaller creeks and
    streams. Flooding over the roadway may be harder to see at night.
    If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around, dont drown!
  - Minor flooding is expected to continue as the main rain band
    shifts northward. Additional rainfall up to 0.5" is possible.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Sebastopol, Cotati, St. Helena,
    Calistoga, Roseland, South Santa Rosa Cdp, Larkfield-Wikiup,
    South Santa Rosa, Graton and Deer Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 4 AM PST early this morning for a
portion of northern California, including the following areas, Napa
and Sonoma.

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM PST Friday for a
