...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following 
  counties, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Matagorda and 
  Wharton.

* WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is 
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 216 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing
    urban and small stream flooding. Spotters report street
    flooding already occuring along FM 518 in Pearland. Between 1
    and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Pearland, southwestern League City, Friendswood, Alvin,
    Manvel, West Columbia, Fresno, Greater Hobby Area,
    southwestern South Belt / Ellington, Arcola, Brookside
    Village, Iowa Colony, Holiday Lakes, Hillcrest, Bonney,
    Brazos Bend State Park, southeastern Sienna, Van Vleck,
    Rosharon and Damon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
