...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following 
  county, Fairfield and southeast New York, including the following 
  county, Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1248 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Danbury, Southbury, Mount Kisco, Newtown, Ridgefield, Monroe,
    Bethel, Wilton, Brookfield, Redding, Bedford, Yorktown
    Heights, Briarcliff Manor, Easton, Pleasantville and Goldens
    Bridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 3 PM EDT this afternoon for 
portions of southern Connecticut, including the following area, 
Fairfield and southeast New York, including the following area, 
Westchester. A brief heavy downpour will still be possible through 
around 4 PM EDT, however flooding is not anticipated.


Urban and small stream flooding is no longer expected to pose a 
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
