...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including far
southeastern Santa Barbara and southern Ventura Counties.
* WHEN...Until 600 PM PST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Rock slides and mud slides.

- At 1210 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Ventura, Santa Barbara,
Camarillo, Montecito, Moorpark, Santa Paula, Port Hueneme,
Carpinteria, Ventura Harbor, Point Mugu, La Conchita, Point
Mugu State Park, Newbury Park, Rincon Point, Summerland, Isla
Vista and Goleta.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In
addition, Be aware of rock slides and mudslides near hilly and or
mountainous terrain.
