...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kentucky, 
  including the following counties, in south central Kentucky, 
  Rockcastle. In southeast Kentucky, Jackson.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 559 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
    has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mount Vernon, Boone, Wildie, Roundstone, Renfro Valley,
    Muellersville, Lake Linville, Hummel, Hiatt, Conway, Orlando,
    Burr, Bummer, Flat Rock, Dudley Station, Snider, Maretburg,
    Wellhope, Disputanta and Spiro.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

southeast Kentucky, including the following areas, in south central 
Kentucky, Rockcastle. In southeast Kentucky, Jackson.

The heavy rain has ended, and any minor flooding has likely receded. 
Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to 
heed any lingering road closures.
