The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Darlington County in northeastern South Carolina...

* Until 945 PM EDT.

* At 644 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 4 inches of rain have
  fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 inches in 1 hour.
  Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the
  warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways,
           streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and
           low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  North Hartsville and Clyde.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dangerous flooding from heavy rainfall can be expected, especially
near poor drainage areas and other flood prone locations. Roads may
be damaged or washed away. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. If
flooding is observed, then turn around, dont drown.

At 747 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to 6 inches of rain have fallen.
Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected. Flash flooding likely is ongoing.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, and
         streets as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  North Hartsville and Clyde.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Buckholtz Creek, Black Creek, Little Seed Branch, Spring Branch,
  Seed Branch, Cedar Creek, Sparrow Swamp, Beaverdam Creek, Bell
  Branch, Lynches River and Boggy Swamp.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dangerous flooding can be expected, especially near poor drainage
areas and other flood prone locations. It is harder to recognize
flood dangers at night, as it will be difficult to determine the
depth of the water. Roads may be damaged or washed away. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. If flooding is observed, then turn around,
dont drown.
