The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Crow Wing County in east central Minnesota...
* Until 230 PM CDT Friday.
* At 1125 AM CDT Friday, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Brainerd, Mille Lacs Lake, Baxter, Crosby, Ironton, Deerwood,
Garrison, Upper South Long Lake, South Long Lake, Crow Wing State
Park, East Gull Lake, Bay Lake, Riverton, Woodrow and Barrows.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHERN CROW WING COUNTY...
At 1202 PM CDT Friday, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Intense rainfall rates
of between 1 and 2 inches in as little as 30 minutes have been
observed. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
The heaviest rainfall will be focused from near Barrows, to just
east of Brainerd, to Lake Mille Lacs.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
