The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
North Central Columbia County in east central New York...
Southwestern Rensselaer County in east central New York...
* Until 815 PM EDT.
* At 517 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms
producing heavy rain will result in flash flooding. Between 0.5
and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5
to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
East Greenbush, Nassau, Valatie, Castleton-On-Hudson, Kinderhook,
Coeymans, Stuyvesant, East Nassau, North Chatham, Braeside,
Niverville, East Schodack, Malden Bridge, Schodack Center, Van
Hoesen Station, South Schodack, Jacks Corners, Valatie Colony,
Riders Mills and Chatham Center.

EVENING FOR SOUTHWESTERN RENSSELAER COUNTY...
At 608 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated runoff from thunderstorms
previously over the area, that fell over wet soils, will continue to
result in flash flooding. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
