The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Gila County in east central Arizona...
  Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 815 PM MST.

* At 520 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain mainly over Pinto Creek. Between 0.5 and 1.75 inches of
  rain have fallen. Runoff in Pinto Creek may travel downstream to
  Roosevelt Estates area in a couple hours. Additional rainfall
  amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Roosevelt Estates.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

EVENING FOR GILA COUNTY...

At 712 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms produced heavy rain over Pinto Creek. Between 0.75 and
1.75 inches of rain have fallen. A streamflow gauge on Pinto Creek
measured a 7 foot rise that peaked at 5:20 PM MST. Floodwater may
still make it to the Roosevelt Estates area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.
