The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Muscatine County in east central Iowa...
  Northwestern Louisa County in southeastern Iowa...

* Until 1000 PM CDT Friday.

* At 359 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain 
  have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches per hour. 
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Muscatine, Columbus Junction, Fruitland, Grandview, Conesville, 
  Columbus City, Letts, Cotter, Wyman, Fredonia, Cranston, Sand 
  Springs, Ardon, Louisa County Fairgrounds, Muscatine Municipal 
  Airport, Cairo and Saulsbury Bridge Campground.

At 611 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flooding in and 
near Columbus Junction within the warned area. Between 1 and 3 
inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no 
significant additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is 
already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

Flood waters continue to recede as the heavy rain threat has ended 
for now. Flash flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. 
Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT Saturday for 
portions of Illinois, Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
