The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Muscatine County in east central Iowa...
  Southwestern Rock Island County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 1045 PM CDT Friday.

* At 440 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 
  hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Muscatine, Durant, Wilton, Walcott, Buffalo, Fairport, Illinois 
  City, Montpelier, Stockton, New Era, Sweetland Center, Fairport 
  Recreation Area, Wildcat Den State Park, Shady Creek Campground, 
  Pleasant Prairie, Midway Beach, Loud Thunder Forest Preserve, 
  Clarks Ferry Recreation Area and Loud Thunder Scout Camp.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

COUNTIES...

At 614 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have 
fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no significant 
additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Flood waters have receded. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no 
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining 
road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT Saturday for 
portions of Illinois, Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
