The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
East Central Emery County in central Utah...
* Until 145 PM MDT.
* At 1039 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the headwaters of the Saleratus Wash. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Saleratus Wash near Green River.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL EMERY COUNTY...
At 1235 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3.5 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen in the headwaters of Saleratus Wash. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose an
immediate threat. The flood wave still may have not progressed
through Saleratus Wash to the confluence of the Green River. Please
