The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Eastern Carroll County in southwestern Virginia...
* Until 200 AM EDT.
* At 806 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

At 929 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported a water rescue ongoing
near Fancy Gap due to Chances Creek Road being completely flooded.
Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is already occurring in several areas across the county near Fancy
Gap and near Hillsville.
