* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Clay County in south central Illinois...
Southern Effingham County in south central Illinois...
* Until 700 PM CDT.
* At 355 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Watson, Dieterich, Edgewood, Mason, Bible Grove, Heartville, Iola,
Hord and Effingham County Airport.
This includes Interstate 57 between mile markers 143 and 154.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Fulfer Creek, Limestone Creek, Little Panther Creek, Little Muddy
Creek, Dieterich Creek, Little Bishop Creek, Second Creek, Little
Salt Creek, Sutton Creek, Dismal Creek, Brush Creek, Lucas Creek,
Panther Creek, Crabapple Creek, Brockett Creek, Big Muddy Creek,

rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

NORTHWESTERN CLAY AND SOUTHERN EFFINGHAM COUNTIES...
The heavy rain has ended. Portions of the Flash Flood Warning have
been replaced by an Areal Flood Warning through 8 AM Monday. Please
continue to heed remaining road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for portions of
central, east central, southeast, and west central Illinois.
