The Elk Burn Scar in... Central Rio Blanco County in northwestern Colorado... * Until 415 PM MDT. * At 223 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Elk Burn Scar. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the drainages on the burn scar. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the warning area will cause mud slides near steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
