* At 305 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Johnson City, Elizabethton, Jonesborough, Central, Pine Crest,
Hampton, Midway, Oak Grove and Unicoi.
This includes Interstate 26 in Tennessee between mile markers 14 and
22...and between mile markers 23 and 34.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

FOR CENTRAL CARTER, SOUTH CENTRAL SULLIVAN, NORTHEASTERN UNICOI AND
EASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTIES...
At 358 PM EDT, There are several social media reports in the Johnson
City area with photos of flash flooding. Notable roads include
Cherokee Road and Unicoi Drive. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
