The National Weather Service in State College has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Warren County in north central Pennsylvania...
* Until 1230 AM EDT.
* At 927 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sheffield, Garland, Grand Valley and Tidioute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
In hilly terrain, hundreds of low water crossings are potentially
dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find
an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM EDT SUNDAY FOR
SOUTHERN WARREN COUNTY...
At 1104 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate that
thunderstorms have produced between 2 and 5 inches of rain.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area as another thunderstorm is moving toward the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sheffield, Garland, Grand Valley and Tidioute.
Tidioute and Caldwell Creeks, and Gar and McGuire Runs are some of
the basins which have received the heaviest rainfall.
