The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...
  Western Newton County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 1100 PM CDT.

* At 525 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Joplin, Neosho, Webb City, Carl Junction, Galena, Seneca, 
  Duquesne, Duenweg, Diamond, Leawood, Silver Creek, Shoal Creek 
  Drive, Saginaw, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Redings Mill, Grand 
  Falls Plaza, Shoal Creek Estates, Dennis Acres, Cliff Village, 
  Racine, Iron Gates and Oakland Park.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Harrison Branch, Dry Branch, Grove Creek, Shoal Creek, Center 
  Creek, Lost Creek, Little Lost Creek, Thurman Creek, Short Creek, 
  Fivemile Creek, Bullskin Creek, Spring River, Carver Branch, 
  Baynham Branch, Cedar Creek, Willow Branch, Joplin Creek and 
  Hickory Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
