The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Catron County in west central New Mexico...
* Until 800 PM MDT.
* At 451 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1.6 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Glenwood, Alma, Pleasanton and Mogollon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.

FOR SOUTHWESTERN CATRON COUNTY...
At 457 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to 1.6 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the
warned area, mainly south of Glenwood. Flash flooding is likely
ongoing.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

warned area. Between 0.6 and 2 inches of rain fell earlier from Alma
to Glenwood and Pleasanton, and also over Big Dry Creek. Flash
flooding is likely ongoing.
