The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  West Central Quay County in east central New Mexico...
  East Central San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 245 AM MDT.

* At 1220 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mainly rural areas of West Central Quay and East Central San Miguel
  Counties.

This includes State Road 104 between Mile Markers 84 and 92.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
