The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 545 PM MST.

* At 240 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain in the Canelo area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Elgin and Canelo.

This includes Route 83 between mile markers 10 and 23.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Santa Cruz River, Turkey Creek and Babocomari River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM MST THIS
AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL SANTA CRUZ COUNTY...

At 316 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms which produced
heavy rain in the Canelo area have  ended. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
