* Flash Flood Warning for...
Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...
Southeastern Somerset County in northern New Jersey...
* Until 900 AM EDT.
* At 559 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across portions of the warned area. Between 1 and 2
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2
inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East
Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret, Middlesex, Bound
Brook and Manville.
This includes the following highways...
New Jersey Turnpike between exits 10 and 13.
Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 13.
Interstate 78 in New Jersey near mile marker 42.
Garden State Parkway between mile markers 121 and 134.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around...dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The heavy rainfall is moving east of the warned area is not an is
not expected to pose an immediate flash flood threat. Please
continue to heed remaining road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT Monday for
portions of northern Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
