The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
  South Central Armstrong County in west central Pennsylvania...
  Southwestern Indiana County in west central Pennsylvania...

* Until 1000 PM EDT.

* At 700 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen and an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Vandergrift, Apollo, Leechburg, North Apollo, West Leechburg, 
  Avonmore, Orchard Hills, Saltsburg, Oklahoma, West Lebanon, East 
  Vandergrift, North Vandergrift, Hyde Park, Jacksonville and North 
  Washington.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS 
EVENING FOR NORTH CENTRAL WESTMORELAND, SOUTH CENTRAL ARMSTRONG AND 
SOUTHWESTERN INDIANA COUNTIES...

At 821 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produce heavy 
rain across the warned area, with 1.5 to 3 inches of rain total. 
Local emergency managers noted water approaching mobile homes in 
Avonworth as flooding impacts are expected to continue despite no 
additional rainfall.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.
