The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...
* Until 715 PM MDT.
* At 416 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Northern Albuquerque, southern Rio Rancho, Corrales, Los Ranchos
De Albuquerque, North Valley and Alameda.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away! Arroyos, flood channels, and culverts
can become unstable and unsafe.

EVENING FOR BERNALILLO COUNTY...
At 521 PM MDT, Although rainfall has mostly ended over the warned
area, earlier thunderstorms produced heavy rain that will continue
to runoff with fast flows in arroyos and drainages. Between 0.75 and
2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is expected to continue.
