The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Harding County in northeastern New Mexico...
  Southeastern Union County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 930 PM MDT.

* At 637 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of 
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 1 inch 
  are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas. This includes
           Tramperos Creek, Monia Creek, and Bob Wells Creek.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Amistad, Hayden, Sedan and Rosebud.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water 
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not 
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM MDT THIS 
EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL HARDING AND SOUTHEASTERN UNION COUNTIES...

At 757 PM MDT, Rain intensity has been decreasing, however earlier 
thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 
and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, 
but no additional rainfall is expected.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS CANCELLED FOR EAST CENTRAL HARDING AND 
SOUTHEASTERN UNION COUNTIES...

Light rain will continue over the area and flows of water in arroyos 
as well as ponding of water in low spots may persist, but 
thunderstorms with heavy rain have moved out of the area. Flash 
flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to 
heed any remaining road closures.
